How to get there

How to get to the start

The Discoveries Half Marathon, 10Km and 4Km start at Praça do Império, Belém, in front of the Centro Cultural de Belém and next to the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos. The finish is at the Museu da Marinha, only a short walk from the start area.

  • By train

    Belém Station is the nearest railway station. Take the Cascais line from Cais do Sodré and get off at Belém. From the station, walk towards Praça do Império and the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos. Allow extra time on race morning.

  • By tram

    The 15E tram connects central Lisbon with Belém. Useful stops for the event area include Mosteiro Jerónimos and Centro Cultural Belém. Race-day traffic restrictions may affect normal service, so please check before travelling.

  • By bus

    Several CARRIS services reach the Belém / Praça do Império area, including routes 714, 727, 728, 729 and 751. Get off close to Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, Praça do Império or Centro Cultural de Belém. Services can be diverted on race morning.

  • By taxi / ride-hailing

    Ask to be dropped near Belém, Praça do Império. Because roads around the course may close before the races begin, your driver may not be able to reach the start itself. We recommend arriving early and completing the final part on foot.

  • By car

    Driving directly to the start area is not recommended on race morning. Road closures and traffic restrictions are expected around Belém and along the race route. If you come by car, park away from the course and walk or use public transport for the final part of your journey.

  • From Lisbon Airport

    There is no direct Metro line to Belém. A practical public-transport option is to travel from Lisbon Airport by Metro towards the city centre, connect to Cais do Sodré, and continue by train to Belém Station. Taxi and ride-hailing services are also available.

Race day recommendation

Public transport is the easiest way to reach the event. Please plan to arrive in Belém at least 60 minutes before your start time. Temporary road closures and changes to bus or tram services may be introduced on race morning.

Discoveries Half Marathon

Starting at Praça do Império and arriving at the Praça do Museu da Marinha, the 13th edition of the Tranquilidade Half Marathon of Discoveries, a 5-star event by the European Athletics Association, will be held on November 29, 2026, in the fantastic city of Lisbon.

      10Km 09.15am - Half Marathon: 10.00am - 4Km 10.30am Start of the Half Marathon, 10Km and 4Km will be beside the Tour, Torre de Belem, running through the streets of Lisbon to finish in front of the Centre Cultural de Belém (C.C.B.) a few metters of the "Mosteiro dos Jerónimos" Monument.

      Participants will have water and isotonic beverages at every 5K.

      Gear Check

      There is a free gear location between the start and finish lines. You can leave a bag and take it back after the race, by presenting your bib number. Please don’t leave valuable or irreplaceable items in your bag, and avoid bringing items that may easily fall out of your bag. The Discoveries Half Marathon Organisation will be not responsible for lost or missing items.

    The event

    • 1Cancellations
      Each entry is considered as non transferable and final and implies full acceptance of the rules. There will be no refunds or transfers (giving your entry to another person), no exceptions (even if the race is cancelled in the event of bad weather or circumstances beyond our control).
    • 2Conditions to participate
      The Half Marathon and 10Km are a races open to every participant with 18 y.o. by November 29, 2026.
      The participants will ASSUME ALL OF THE RISKS and aspects of an Event and they understand that running, walking and other portions of a running event are inherently dangerous. Every participant is responsible and will run under his own risk.
      The registration is strict personal and intransmissible. It will not be able to modify the date of birth nor to give the bib to another competitor or to fold it, under risk to be disqualified
    • 3Medical assistance.
      Medical assistance will be available at the start, en route and at the finish. It is imperative that runners complete their correct medical information on their entry. Should you require hospital treatment, you will be charged according to the hospital tariff rate.
